Review Glock 19 Gen 4 - I still remember the first GLOCK gun I saw. It was at Long's Drug in Colorado Springs, CO in 1987 or 1988. I went to the drug store to buy a Colt 1911 and found a GLOCK 17 - the only model made at the time. Then I fell in love with it and walked out of the drug store with it instead of a Colt 1911. I remember how big the GLOCK 17 was in my hand and then I had two 17 round magazines with the gun… Well, barely if someone gave you another magazine with a pistol. I also remember wondering about the material the body was made of and the staff behind the counter could tell it was some kind of "plastic". However, I bought it anyway.
Since I first purchased the GLOCK 17 I have probably owned every model except the GLOCK 18, and that is because the 18 is limited to the law enforcement and military trade. However, I had a chance to shoot the GLOCK 18 and it really blew up - literally! Worked with Col. I was Rex Applegate in the first video produced by Paladin Press, and we had a prototype GLOCK 23 to play with. It worked most of the time - with an unmodified GLOCK 19 magazine and the rounds didn't always feed well.

The gun we are talking about today is the GLOCK 19 Gen 4 9mm, and it is the best generation. It has 4 straps at the back, two of them make the belt thicker or bigger, and two make the strap longer. Some people who wear gloves have had the unfortunate experience of lightning striking their gloved hand, so you won't have that problem with long gloves. (I've never had a problem with gloved hands and shooting a GLOCK.)

The GLOCK 19, gen 4 weighs 23.65 ounces with a 4.02 inch barrel and a trigger pull of about 5.5 pounds. Each magazine (you get three) holds 15 9mm cartridges. The barrel is hexagonal because it is not a gun.
The trigger is what GLOCK calls a Safe Action Trigger - there's a little lever in the middle of the trigger, and you can't fire the gun without your finger on the trigger. There are also several internal security measures, but they are not necessary. The sight has a white dot polymer on the front and the rear is also polymer except it is "U" shaped and very fast. These sights aren't ideal for general shooting, but most people who buy a GLOCK do so for self-defense or duty purposes, not for practice. The sight is easily replaceable if you want to put a different type of sight on the gun. But you need a GLOCK front sight kit to change the front sight.
I've been told that the GLOCK 19 is the most popular model in the GLOCK line, and I see no argument there. The GLOCK 19 is smaller than the full-size Model 17 and larger than the Model 26 compact — "just right," as Goldilocks said. The 19 is definitely my favorite GLOCK model as well. My eldest daughter also carried a GLOCK 19; they are secretly carrying permits. The polymer body has fingers on the front waist, and the sides and back waist have small "knobs" for good control in all weather conditions.
The return spring assembly is slightly stiffer on the Gen 4 19 than on the previous generation. And you can shoot +P and +P+ in 9mm 19 without any problem. The slide has an anti-rust Tennifer coating; I was told that the coating is harder than diamond. And even if the black fades, the coating is still there and the board will not rust. And as mentioned, the body is a polymer.

There is also a small addition to the suction - when there is a circle in the room, you can see or feel the small protrusion of the suction.
All GLOCKs are easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. Just remove the magazine, check the chamber to make sure there are no cartridges in the barrel, aim the gun in a safe direction and pull the trigger. Once this is done, slide the slide in about 1/4 inch and turn the release and the slide will come out. You can remove the spring and barrel assembly and that's it. Put the barrel back into the slide, then the recoil spring and back into the frame - it's that easy!
All GLOCKs have a magazine loader and loading the magazine is a bit difficult. I don't have a problem, but many people do. Fill the magazines and let them sit for a week or two and the next time you go to fill the magazines it will be easier to put them in because spring has taken over the series.
GLOCK rifles don't need a lot of oil. However, I make sure my Model 19 is lubricated at all times with Italian Gun Grease http://www.italiangungrease.com/ and it is also the best gun oil I have ever used. I also like the SERPA hip holster from Blackhawk Products http://www.blackhawk.com/ for concealed carry and the tactical thigh holster makes a great holster - low and out of the way.
Glock Has Reached The End Of The Line On Gen 4 9mm, .40s&w :: Guns.com
When I tested the GLOCK 19, Gen 4, I had a good selection of bullets from Black Hills Ammunition and Buffalo Bore Ammunition, including constant velocity, +P, and even +P+, and had no problem of 19. .
From the Black Hills, I had the 100g cartridge, which is mainly used in indoor rifles. When the cartridge hits the iron again, it is almost completely destroyed. I also had a round of Black Hills 115 gr FMJ. I can't wait for the Black Hills 115-gr + P Barnes copper-filled TAC-XP hollow load; they left when I asked them to. From Buffalo Bore I had the 15g Barnes full brass hollow point TAC-XP +P load, 124g FMJ FN +P+, 124g JHP +P, 115g JHP +P+ and 147gr. JHP +P+ pays.
All accuracy testing was done at 25 feet with the sleeping bag rolled up on the hood of my SUV. As I said, I had no malfunctions whatsoever. I could feel the difference with Buffalo Bore's +P+ round; they are very good. The GLOCK range of rifles is not known for its earth-shattering accuracy. I usually get 4 inch groups if I do my part. With a slightly tapered trigger pull and a combat style sight, it's as good as most GLOCKs. But most experts agree that 4 inches by 25 feet is sufficient for self-defense needs.
I live in the yard and always in the tree line (or just in the yard) and when I have a 9mm gun I reload with a Buffalo Bore 124-gr "Penerator" ”FMJ FN +P+ round if I'm in black bear country. It digs deep enough to stop a bear from eating its lunch. On the street, I choose any type of load, but I'm spoiled for choice with a 115g brass hollow point TAC XP +P from Black Hills or Buffalo Bore; Barnes bullets penetrate deep, expand and stay together.

You should also note that the GLOCK 19 takes a 17. GLOCK 17 with a magazine clamp, although it extends below the rear of the gun. GLOCK also makes the 33rd flag. I have used them and they work. However, I have used aftermarket 33rd magazines made in South Korea and have had no problems with them. These rounds are usually less than half the price of a genuine GLOCK 33-rd 9mm magazine.
On the other hand, the South Korean-made .31 .40 S&W magazines I tested proved unreliable. If I have to grab and run in a survival situation, I grab my GLOCK 19, which holds several extra 15-round magazines, and my Blackhawk Products 9mm machine gun leg pouch, which holds three of the 33 well-expanded magazines. rd magazine at that - with an AR-15 or AK-47, of course.
Many first time gun buyers buy a GLOCK model because they see many police officers carrying GLOCKs. And gun dealers often recommend the GLOCK. Many students in my gun class who come to class without a gun borrow my GLOCK 19 and immediately go on to buy one for themselves. They are also accompanied by the security forces of the UN
